Bert Smith

Dr. Bert J. Smith

CEO and Founder of RHP

In 2016 Dr. Bert J. Smith left a physician-administrator position at a large hospital corporation to start a small, solo nursing home practice.  Dr. Smith saw a need to bring quality care to seniors who were at high risk for hospital readmission due to gaps in their care.  These gaps led to longer recovery times and delayed homecomings – something needed to change. Dr. Smith took it upon himself to make a difference, founding Renuven Health Partners.

It’s important to me to debunk the stereotype that doctors don’t listen, don’t have your best interests in mind, and would not consider other evidence-based healthcare options.  My goal is to stand out from the crowd.  I strive to convey a sense of excellence and professionalism in everything I do.  I love getting to know my patients and am humbled by the knowledge of how many people are affected by what we do.  Nothing makes me happier than to see great results from our elevated level of care.  Both my parents have been patients in facilities where we provide care, and we treat our patients like our own family.

Dr. Smith is board-certified in Internal Medicine and also completed residency in Pediatrics.

Don Adams

Dr. Don E. Adams III

CMO of RHP

Dr. Adams left a position of regional leadership over hospitalists to join Dr. Smith in 2016. He’s previously worked as a:

  • Primary care provider
  • Nocturnist
  • Hospitalist
  • SNF service provider

Dr. Adams has been heavily involved in teaching RHP providers and resident physicians how to provide high-quality geriatric care.

He transitioned into the role of CMO with RHP as it has grown. He’s tasked with ensuring RHP facilities continue to be industry leaders in quality.

Leah O'Dell

Leah O’Dell

Director of Operations

Leah received both her Undergraduate in Healthcare Leadership and Master’s in Business Administration from East Tennessee State University. She has 17 years of healthcare operations experience across several subspecialties and is passionate about process improvement that is focused on quality and customer satisfaction.

Leah oversees our business operations, financial reporting, and organizational growth.

Brooke Price

Manager of Team Experience & Quality Excellence

As the Manager of Team Experience & Quality Excellence, Brooke focuses on fostering a positive, high-performing work environment while leading continuous quality improvement across the ACO and I-SNP networks. Responsibilities include collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to implement best practices, analyzing performance data to improve patient outcomes, and developing programs that support employee satisfaction, recognition, and retention.

Tina Ison

Accounting Manager

Tina joined our team in February 2025 as our Accounting Manager. She has a BBA in Accounting and MS in Leadership and Organizational Management.  She has been in the finance industry for 20 years in the corporate and nonprofit sectors.  She lives in Kingsport with her husband and son.
